(via stupidDOPE.com) Running strong for 14 years, the Red Bull BC One has showcased the best in worldwide breaking. For 2017, the championship took place in the heart of one of our favorite European cities. That's right, the eclectically charged Amsterdam hosted this years' Red Bull BC One, where the best B-Boys & Girls windmilled their way in a tournament style showdown akin to Mortal Kombat. And as a pillar of Hip Hop, the dance was celebrated by competitors and fans alike. The Dutch have preserved the art of the dance with immaculate integrity, so it totally made sense to hold the BC One in a city that holds all forms of art in the highest regard.
While kicking it at the Red Bull BC One, we were fortunate to interview one of the 16 finalists. Thesis, a Seattle native with the energy to support the good ole US of A, took the time to tell us the ways his battle secrets have paved his way to the world finals. And although he did not take the title of world champion ( this year), his advice rings true to dance enthusiasts and Hip Hop heads around the globe. In an effort to block the mind games from opponents he lives by these important words;
"Just play your own game and win it." We dig it.
Congrats to the Dutch Red Bull BC One All Star, Menno for taking his second Red Bull BC One victory.
We can't wait to see who takes the crown in 2018.
Much love to Kwame Garcia for his most dope beat. Hip Hop is universal.
